Dyski was founded in 2024 by Dion Star
Dyski offers cutting-edge immersive workshops that nurture creativity, emphasising community support and giving back. Each Dyski workshop includes two grants, designed to assist those who may need financial support to attend. One grant is available to Cornwall residents, and the other is open to anyone else.
Each workshop begins as collaboration between Dion and the workshop lead and is based on three main principles of learning: Immersion, iteration, and place-based learning.
Dion is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and musician whose work spans visual art, performance, and music. He created the poster artwork and titles for the feature films Bait and Enys Men and co-authored Creativity Begins With You. Dion taught at Falmouth University for 12 years and has presented his work at conferences in Denmark, Finland, Germany, and the UK. As a musician, he crafts ambient soundscapes and collaborates with filmmaker Mark Jenkin in The Cornish Sound Unit. Recently, he toured with Ben Howard, celebrating the 10th anniversary of I Forget Where We Were.
Dion works closely with the residency and workshop lead to craft engaging experiences and provides dedicated support for all activities at Dyski.
